2016 DIG FELLOWSHIPS
17³Ô¹ÏSets Goal of Twenty $2,000 Awards

In 2007, 17³Ô¹Ïrenewed its emphasis on providing fellowships for individuals participating in excavations in the Eastern Mediterranean. Since 2007, 17³Ô¹Ïhas awarded 361 fellowships and excavation grants. Because of rising travel and accommodation costs, 17³Ô¹Ïincreased the dollar amount of excavation fellowships for 2016 to $2,000 each. Previously, most fellowships were $1,000 each.
17³Ô¹Ïis extremely grateful to our many donors who have made these fellowships possible. Each year we have individual donors who support an entire fellowship through a Heritage Fellowship gift. Our membership also contributes generously throughout the year and especially during March Fellowship Madness, and these gifts result in an additional $6,000 to $8,000 of support. Finally, but certainly not least, over the last four years we have dramatically increased the number of endowment funds that support fellowships: MacAllister, Meyers, Meyers/Wright, Platt, Sheeler, or Strange/Midkiff.

Eligibility requirements. You must meet one of the following criteria in order to apply:
- You are an 17³Ô¹Ïmember (any membership category); or
- You are a student currently enrolled at an ASOR-member institution; or
- You are an undergraduate member. For 2016, 17³Ô¹Ïis offering a special undergraduate membership with online subscriptions for only $29.95 (proof of undergraduate status required).
